From 1945 to 1948, PFC Galer proudly served in the United States Army as a Private First Class during the World War II era. His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life, and he carried a deep respect and appreciation for fellow veterans long after returning home. His son shared, “No one respected veterans better than my dad. He was so proud to have served.”

Those words reflect the character, patriotism, and gratitude that defined him. His dedication to his country and admiration for those who served alongside him continue to be remembered with honor by both his family and the Hillsboro community.
