SSG BILLLY p ISAACS

He spent his entire life in Hillsboro and remained deeply proud of both his community and his service to our country. After returning home from World War II, he earned his GED, worked at Hillsboro Glass, and devoted his life to raising four daughters and supporting his family.

As a member of the United States Army, he served with the Ninth Armored Division, 27th Infantry, First Scout Company B. During his time in service, he received numerous military honors including the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and Ribbon with three Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal and Ribbon, the American Campaign Medal and Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal from Germany.

Among the many moments that defined his military service, he saw action at the historic Ludendorff Bridge, also known as the Bridge at Remagen, a key railway bridge over the Rhine River in Germany captured by the U.S. 9th Armored Division on March 7, 1945. His dedication, sacrifice, and service continue to be remembered with great pride and gratitude.
